How do I Build A Matrix of Shapes?

The Tool Commander has built in functionality to create a range of standard shapes such as squares, rectangles, ovals and circles.

Tool Commander

The Tool Commander has built in functionality to create a range of standard shapes such as squares, rectangles, ovals and circles.  It also allows for spacing commands, X/Y moves, to be entered between shapes.  When the shapes are combined with spacing commands the Tool Commander will auto generate a matrix or other spacing of parts.

Steps To Create a Matrix

  1. Create a 1” diameter circle = Circle 25.4
  2. Move in the X 2.5” = 63.5mm and move in the Y 0” = 0mm
  3. Create another 1” diameter circle = Circle 25.4
  4. Move in the X another 2.5” = 63.5mm and move in the Y 0” = 0mm
  5. Etc.

When you are ready to start the next row, you must move back X distance to the beginning and up Y distance to the next row.  In the example below

Move X = -190.5mm and Y = 38.1mm
